The 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron provides outstanding logistics support to effectively execute the 31st Fighter Wing's mission and train combat-ready Logistics Airmen.

The 31st LRS delivers and sustains combat logistics readiness support through professional vehicle, supply and fuels management. The unit plans and executes surface, rail, air and sea movement of passengers and cargo for the 31st Fighter Wing, geographically separated units and U.S. and NATO deployed forces. The 31st LRS executes base deployment operations while maintaining a robust capability to deploy personnel/cargo in support of AEF.

PERSONNEL AND RESOURCES
More than 420 active-duty, Reserve and civilian Airmen are assigned to the 31st LRS. The squadron is responsible for more than 1,060 vehicles valued at over $90.44 million, stock accounts valued at more than $521 million, and the receipt, storage, quality and issue of over 12 million gallons of fuel and cryogenics products annually. The unit manages more than 1,075 unit type codes, tasking 3,724 personnel and 2,401.1 short tons of cargo and maintains a war reserve materiel program valued at $1.3 million. The 31st LRS also operates the 31st FW Support Agreement office, maintaining more than 20 support agreements with $14 million in reimbursements annually.

ORGANIZATION
The 31st LRS consists of four flights covering Fuels Management, Materiel Management, Vehicle Management, and Deployment and Distribution. The unit falls under the 31st Mission Support Group, 31st Fighter Wing, and is located at Aviano AB, Italy.

HISTORY
The 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron originated as the 31st Supply Squadron, 31st Maintenance and Supply Group, activating on Nov. 6, 1947. During the Air Force restructuring movement in the early 2000s, the unit was designated the 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron on July 19, 2002. At this time, the 31st Supply Squadron became the 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron and the assets and personnel assigned to the 31st Transportation Squadron were reassigned to the new unit.
The unit has been stationed at Turner Field (later AFB), Ga.; Tuy Hoa AB, South Vietnam; and Homestead AFB, Fla.
