Benefit Highlights:
Space-A Travel is a privilege (not an entitlement) that accrues to Uniformed Services members as an avenue of respite from the rigors of Uniformed Services duty.

Reservations will not be made for any Space-A passenger. Travel opportunity shall be afforded on an equitable basis to officers, enlisted personnel, civilian employees and their accompanying dependents without regard to rank/grade, or branch of Uniformed Service. Your date and time of sign up will be used to determine travel priority amongst other travelers within your category; travel is on a first come first served basis.

Transportation may be between overseas stations, between Continental United States (CONUS) stations, and between overseas and CONUS stations where adequate border clearance facilities exist or can be made readily available.

Except where specifically noted in Chapter 6 of DOD 4515.13-R, dependents may travel Space-A to or from non-CONUS destinations when accompanied by their sponsor.

Active duty members, National Guard Soldiers (drill, federal and state active duty) and Reserve Soldiers on drill status traveling under circumstances including (but not limited to) official Permanent Change of Station (PCS), Temporary Duty (TDY), or Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) orders are considered Space-R.

Conditions of travel
There is no guaranteed space for any traveler. The Department of Defense is not obligated to continue an individual's travel, return him or her to the point of origin or any other point.
