31st Dental Squadron

MISSION

The 31st Dental Squadron supports the readiness of the 31st Fighter Wing and associated units throughout the Southern Region by ensuring the health of its community by providing optimal patient-focused dental care utilizing internal, Department of Defense and Host Nation resources. The Squadron integrates community-based preventive dental services and utilizes all dental resources to enable peak mission readiness and sustained performance in support of the Expeditionary Air Force, U.S. and NATO objectives worldwide. 

ORGANIZATION
The 31st Dental Squadron consists of three flights, including Clinical Dentistry, Dental Support and Dental Laboratory. The 31st Dental Squadron provides approximately 22,000 patient visits annually to almost 8,700 beneficiaries. Services offered include Comprehensive General Dentistry, specialty care in Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics and full-service Dental Laboratory.

HISTORY
The 31st Dental Squadron was activated in December 1997 and since then has expanded operations from 14 to 24 treatment rooms, with projections to increase support capabilities to include renovation projects in Dental Records and Reception, Dental Instrument Processing Center and the Dental Laboratory. The 31st Dental Squadron garnered the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004 and was awarded the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Commander In Chief's Installation Excellence Award for Special Recognition in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
