Holiday Wyvern submissions

31st Medical Group closure, Dec. 18
The 31st Medical Group will be closed beginning at noon for training. For more information, call 1st Lt. Donald Davidson at 632-5419.
Hearts Apart holiday dinner, Dec. 18
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a Hearts Apart holiday dinner in support of deployed families from 6 to 9 p.m. at the La Bella Vista club. The event will include dinner, games, kids' activities and an appearance by Santa Claus. Due to limited space, participants are required to sign up. For more information or to sign up, call 632-5407.

AFSA meeting, Dec. 16

Holiday trees for sale, Dec. 19-21
Boy Scout Troop 323 will sell fresh-cut holiday trees and wreaths from 4 to 7 p.m. on Fridays; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays in front of the Exchange. Small, medium and large trees, and wreath stands will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the local Boy Scout program. For more information, call Chaplain (Capt.) Finance customer service counter closure, Dec. 19

Space-A briefing, Dec. 19
The 724th Air Mobility Squadron will host a Space-Available briefing at 10:30 a.m. at the Aviano Passenger Terminal on Area F. AMS personnel will provide tips and tools needed to ensure a seamless and stress-free Space-A travel. For more information, contact Aviano Passenger Terminal at 632-7680.
AAAC photos with Santa, Dec. 20
The Aviano Airmen Advisory Council will host photos with Santa beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Exchange. Airmen are encouraged to vote for their favorite chief, commander or first sergeant to be Santa. Gift wrapping, Dec. 22, 23
The Aviano Base Chapel is looking for volunteer to wrap presents from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the chapel office for their Warrior Christmas. For more information, call 632-5211.
Warrior Christmas, Dec. 25
The Aviano Base Chapel will host a Warrior Christmas for single or unaccompanied service members from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Italian Refuge, Building 11. Love and Logic, Jan. 5
The Aviano Family Advocacy office will host a Love and Logic class beginning Jan. 5 to Jan. 21 every Monday and Wednesday from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. This class is designed to help parents with children six months to six years. For more information or to sign-up, call 632-5667.

The Aviano Red Cross offers several different health and safety classes throughout the month. The Volunteer Corner is a newsletter highlighting Red Cross events monthly. For more information on events, volunteering or to read the newsletter, call 632-5576.

Other Notable Information
The Aviano Veterinary Treatment Facility has open slots for sick calls and vaccine appointments for next year. They also have heartworm, flea and tick prevention products and grooming products available for purchase. For more information or to make an appointment, call 632-8485.

Tax center volunteers
The Aviano Tax Center is looking for volunteers to assist with income tax returns. No experience is needed and necessary training will be conducted in January. Volunteers can be active duty, personnel, civilian employees, retirees or dependents. Military retirees and dependents are subject to background checks before volunteering. Pregnancy relaxation classes
The Aviano Family Advocacy Program will host a pregnancy relaxation class from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday at Health Promotions. For more information or to sign up, call 632-5667.
The Aviano Toastmasters meet the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 5:15 p.m. in the ground safety classroom in Building 1413. This is a chance to gain personal and professional development in public speaking and leadership. For more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Spoonies" support group
The Aviano Base Chapel will host a "Spoonies" support group every third Monday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Refuge on Area F. A Spoonie is someone who is living with a chronic mental or physical illness. For more information, call Chaplain Matthew Gallo at 632-5211.
Holiday postal information
The Aviano Post Office will have extended hours for holiday conveniences. If five or more packages are being sent, members are encouraged to make an appointment Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 9:45 a.m.
- Parcel pick-up window:
Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Customer service desk:
Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Finance and outbound mail:

Saber team volunteers
The Annual Awards Committee is looking for 12 volunteers to be a part of a saber team detail during the annual awards ceremony. Volunteers must have a mess dress. For more information or to volunteer, call Master Sgt. James Byers at 632-7406.
TASI Tax payment
Service members are now required to pay a Tassa Servizi Indivisibili tax for services provided by the city, such as street lighting and cleaning. Landlords will provide tenants with a bill, which must be paid for at an Italian post office. For more information, click here or call the housing office at 632-2272.
MFLC Lunch and Learn presentations
The Military and Family Life Consultants will host a series of Lunch and Learn presentations on various topics from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. For a complete lists of presentation dates and topics, click here.
Airman's Attic hours
The Airman's Attic will now be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Area 2. Volunteers can sign up by clicking here. For more information on the Airman's Attic, click here or find them on Facebook here.
The Aviano Thrift Shop, run by the Aviano Community of Enlisted Spouses, is open Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m. located on Area 2 in the Red Cross building. The thrift shop is manned by volunteers and new helpers are always welcomed and needed. Donations and consignments are always accepted. Aviano Against Drunk Driving
AADD provides a safe ride home for military members, dependents and civilian employees who have been drinking. For AADD services, call 0434-30-2233 on Fridays and Saturdays between midnight and 4 a.m.
Personnel desiring leisure travel to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, or Baltimore will need to be at the Aviano Passenger Terminal for the Space-A Roll Call at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. For more information, call 632-7680 or click here.
Emergency contact number change
The commercial number for emergencies is now 0434-30-1911. For emergencies on base, dial 911 or 112. To contact off base medical services, call 118. To contact fire services, call 115 and to contact local police, call 113.
Volunteering at Aviano
Anyone interested in volunteering on- or off-base can click here for more information. Users must have Internet Explorer version 9 or higher installed. First-time users should register on the site as an individual and organization points-of-contact should register as their organization. For help using the site, access the "How-To" videos.
