AFN survey, Oct. 24
The American Forces Network Broadcast Center is conducting a viewer survey available on www.myafn.net, now through Oct. 24. The questionnaire will help determine audience viewing habits, preferences, and their current capability to receive a streamed and/or AFN video-on-demand service. The survey will also provide AFN with information needed to help develop and deliver additional programming to its audience via mobile streaming and on-demand services.
Absentee ballots, Oct. 25
Team Aviano voters are encouraged to mail their federal election absentee ballots no later than Oct. 25 to allow time for their ballot to reach the appropriate voting processing offices stateside before Election Day, Nov. 4. This is in accordance with the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act, which requires casted absentee ballots to be collected and postmarked no later than noon on the seventh day preceding the date of the regularly scheduled general elections for federal office.
Fall Fest registration, volunteer

AAAC elections, Oct. 14
The Aviano Airmen's Advisory Council will host elections from 3 to 4 p.m. at the La Bella Vista Club. Airmen who are interested must have at least one year retainability, a recommendation letter from their supervisors and no long-term temporary duty assignments scheduled. Dorm customer service change, Oct. 14
Beginning Oct. 14, the dorm leaders' customer service section will be operating out of the dorm leaders' office in Bldg. 1428, and will no longer be in the housing office. Dorm residents can visit Bldg. 1428 for customer service issues and Bldg. 1425 for maintenance issues. For more information, contact a dorm management team member.
SIDS 5K awareness run, Oct. 15
An awareness 5K run and 1600M family walk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome will begin at 7 a.m. at the 5K track on Area F. For more information, call Airman 1st Class Valerie McElhaney at 934-0647.
Red Cross Youth Club meeting, Oct. 16
The Aviano Red Cross will host a Youth Club meeting from 12:40 to 1:05 p.m. in the Aviano Middle/High School gymnasium. The club is offered to teenagers and offers community service and scholarship opportunities. For more information, call Amber O'Steen at 632-5576.
CFC Fitness-a-thon, Oct. 17
The Aviano Combined Federal Campaign committee will host a fitness-a-thon competition from 9 a.m. to noon at the Falcon Fitness Center on Area 2. Participants can choose to compete in one or a combination challenges with all proceeds going to a charity of their choice. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. My Wingman is my Buddy Halloween arts, crafts session, Oct. 18
A Halloween arts and crafts session will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. My Wingman is my Buddy initiative pairs volunteer Airmen with special needs children to host events and help build camaraderie. For more information, call Staff Sgt. Pet spa appointments, Oct. 20
Limited pet spa appointments are available at the Aviano Veterinary Clinic. All patients will receive an ear cleaning, nail trimming, hair brushing and a dental evaluation. All pets will also go home with an at-home dental care kit. To schedule an appointment, call 632-8485.
AOCSC Scholarship, Oct. 21
The Aviano Officer and Civilian Spouses' Club offers education scholarships to family members of U.S. military and Department of Defense personnel. Scholarships are provided for undergraduate and graduate students. For more information and to download an application, click here.
National Physical Therapy Month, Oct. 23
A strength-based competition will take place from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Physical Therapy Clinic, Bldg. 1466. "Spooky Sprint" 5K, Oct. 24
A costume 5K run for domestic violence awareness will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the 5K track on Area F. Old cell phone donations can be brought to help aid domestic violence shelters and prizes will be given for the top three best costumes. Monster Mash Up, Oct. 24
A military Halloween co-ed sports day between Aviano and Vicenza service members will take place at the Falcon Fitness Center on Area 2. No FEAR Act Training, Nov. 15
Federal civilian employees and all supervisors, managers and military supervisors of civilian employees are now required to complete Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act training. The training can be completed online through the Advanced Distributed Learning Service on the Air Force Portal webpage, or in-person by the 31st Fighter Wing Equal Opportunity Office. It is intended to inform employees about the rights and remedies available under the Antidiscrimination Laws and Whistleblower Protection Laws applicable to them. MFLC Lunch and Learn presentations
The Military and Family Life Consultants will host a series of Lunch and Learn presentations on various topics from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. For a complete lists of presentation dates and topics, click here.
Visitor pass requests
Members looking to request extended-access for family and friends to enter the base must contact the Large Vehicle Inspection Station at 632-6175 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Extended base passes can take up to 4 weeks to process and approve, so the sooner information is submitted, the better. Base passes for up to 3 days can be issued at the Visitor Control Center, South Gate, Gate 9, with proper identification.
Mental health clinic support
The 31st Medical Group Mental Health Clinic provides individualized support for groups and individuals, marital therapy, parenting skills, stress management and substance abuse counseling. Counselors can also provide a variety of support for issues such as traumatic stress, anxiety, sleep problems and depression. Airman's Attic hours

Aviano Against Drunk Driving
AADD provides a safe ride home for military members, dependents and civilian employees who have been drinking. For AADD services, call 0434-30-2233 on Fridays and Saturdays between midnight and 4 a.m.
Personnel desiring leisure travel to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, or Baltimore will need to be at the Aviano Passenger Terminal for the Space-A Roll Call at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. For more information, call 632-7680 or click here.
Emergency contact number change
The commercial number for emergencies is now 0434-30-1911. For emergencies on base, dial 911 or 112. To contact off base medical services, call 118. To contact fire services, call 115 and to contact local police, call 113.
Volunteering at Aviano
Anyone interested in volunteering on- or off-base can click here for more information. Users must have Internet Explorer version 9 or higher installed. First-time users should register on the site as an individual and organization points-of-contact should register as their organization. For help using the site, access the "How-To" videos.
