Area 2 Gate hours revised
Beginning immediately, the Area 2 gate hours are:
Monday-Friday: 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
For access to Area 2 outside of established gate hours, please use the pedestrian foot tunnel or contact the emergency control center at 632-7200 for assistance.
June Legal Blotter
The 31st Fighter Wing Legal Office blotter is intended to keep members of the Team Aviano community informed of legal actions and associated punishments each month. Those who have information, which may help security forces solve a crime or prevent a criminal act, should contact the law enforcement desk at 632-7200 or 0434-30-7200. Teen Adventure Camp in Edelweiss, July 21-25
The United States Air Forces in Europe Youth Programs will host a 5-day camp for teens in Garmisch, Germany. The camp will feature white water rafting, zip-lining, mountain biking, hiking and more. Senior NCO induction ceremony emcee auditions, July 15
The Senior NCO Induction Ceremony committee will hosts emcee auditions from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the La Bella Vista Club. If selected, the emcees will be required to wear mess dress for the event. Military Consumer Protection Day kick off, July 16
The Department of Defense and the Federal Trade Commission will host an Air Force-wide Military Consumer Protection Day to kick off a year-round campaign to promote financial readiness for military personnel. Aviano Top III Association meeting, July 17
The Aviano Top III Association will host its monthly membership meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the La Bella Vista Club. Free finger food will be available. Lunch and fellowship is from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the official meeting will begin at 12 p.m. For more information, click here.
Wing Quarterly Awards Ceremony emcee auditions, July 18
The 31st Fighter Wing will host a quarterly awards ceremony emcee audition at 10 a.m. at the Airman Leadership School in Area 2. The event will be held Aug. 1. All ranks are able to audition for the position. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 632-8452 by July 16.
Bundles for Babies, July 18
A Bundles for Babies class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Airman and Family Readiness center. The class will include information on labor, delivery, financial awareness, stress management and car seat safety for new or soon-to-be parents. For more information, call 632-5407.
"Open Mic Night", July 18
The Aviano African American Heritage Council will host an "Open Mic Night" from 9 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $5 at the door. Poets, singers, dancers and musicians are welcomed to perform. For more information, contact Staff Sgt. Monise Butler at 632-4960 or email@example.com.
Motorcycle show, July 19
A motorcycle show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Exchange parking lot. The motorcycle selected for the best "Cruiser, Sport, Sound and Overall" will be given $50 Exchange gift cards. The judging will begin at noon. For more information, call 632-7331.
Chapel pool party, July 27
The Chapel Youth Ministry will host a free pool party from 7 to 10 p.m. at the outdoor pool in Area 1. For more information, call 632-5211.
FAFSA Friday lunch, Aug. 1
The schools within the Education Center will host a Free Application for Federal Student Aid lunch and brief from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Education Center. The briefings will include how to apply for FAFSA, scholarships and GI Bill information. For more information or to sign up, call 632-5143.
5K Glow Run, Aug. 1
A 5K Glow Run will be held at 8:45 p.m. at the Dragon Fitness Center. Sign-in and family fun will begin at 8 p.m. The event will cost $10 and included a glow necklace and race bib. Drinks, t-shirts, games and kids events will be available.
My Wingman is My Buddy, Splash Party, Aug. 2
A pool party with free ice-cream for special needs children and their families will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Base Pool on Area 1. There will be a $2 fee per person, for entrance into the pool. My Wingman is My Buddy initiative pairs volunteer Airmen with special needs children to host events and help build camaraderie. Other Notable Information
Road construction leading to Areas 1 and 2 has been completed. Government owned vehicles are no longer authorized to utilize off-limits roads. For any questions, please consult your vehicle control officer or contact vehicle dispatch at 632-7666.
Personnel desiring leisure travel to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, or Baltimore will need to be at the Aviano Passenger Terminal for the Space-A Roll Call at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. For more information, call 632-7680 or click here.
OSI "Tip Box"
The Aviano Office of Special Investigations now offers a "Tip Box" in the post office next to the parcel pick-up window to help Team Aviano members report suspicious behavior or crime. Members can also submit tips online by clicking here. For more information, call 632-7642.
Emergency contact number change
The commercial number for emergencies is now 0434-30-1911. For emergencies on base, dial 911 or 112. To contact off base medical services, call 118. To contact fire services, call 115 and to contact local police, call 113.
Soggiorno permit notice
The Soggiorno Office will be open during the summer months with limited service. Starting July 10 through August 31 the Questura will not be on base for Soggiorno processing or pick-up. Appointments should be made as early as possible for new applicants or for customers whose soggiorno expires during the months of June, July or Aug. For more information, call 632-4802 or 4806
New Commissary 'Early Bird' hours
To improve customer service and offer a larger variety of product to select from, the main store is now open for Early Bird Shopping, 20 items or less, on Monday through Saturday from 7 to 9 a.m. and Sunday from 8 to 10 a.m. The Aviano Commissary Grab 'n Go section is now closed.
Volunteering at Aviano
Anyone interested in volunteering on- or off-base can click here for more information. Users must have Internet Explorer version 9 or higher installed. First-time users should register on the site as an individual and organization points-of-contact should register as their organization. For help using the site, access the "How-To" videos. Aviano Against Drunk Driving
AADD provides a safe ride home for military members, dependents and civilian employees who have been drinking. For AADD services, call 0434-30-2233 on Fridays and Saturdays between midnight and 4 a.m.
Team Aviano members are reminded to comply with important Italian recycling laws while living in Italy. To view English versions of each community's recycling handbook and calendar, click here.
