Aviano Post Office workers earn USAFE awards

Heidi Spaulding, Aviano Post Office custodian of postal effects, retrieves mail for a customer Feb. 2. Ms. Spaulding recently earned the Outstanding Civilian Assistant award at the U.S. Air Forces in Europe level for her dedicated service at the post office. Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Spaulding assisted in delivering 3.9 million pounds of mail to customers within four hours of receipt, surpassing the Department of Defense average time of delivery by 20 hours. She also conducted education tours of the post office for more than 150 Youth Center children, informing the younger generation about the postal system.
