Aviano School Track & Field Teams
Aviano School Track & Field Teams
The Aviano track & field team needs volunteers to assist during two home track meets on Apr, 20 and May, 18 from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Meets take place at the Pordenone track.

American Red Cross
Aviano American Red Cross station urgently needs volunteers to fill key roles in the areas of volunteer management, special events, youth programming, fundraising and program/project management. There are a wide variety of opportunities to get involved in supporting such roles from participation in related activities to leadership positions that oversee specific Red Cross activities. Volunteers are needed to do Emergency Communication Casework, briefs, community outreach, special events, fundraising, disaster preparedness education, or to support our First Aid/CPR/AED training programs.

Base Chapel
The Aviano Chapel is looking for volunteers for several positions. A receptionist is needed at the Area F chapel office from Monday through Friday, hours are flexible. Religious teachers and teacher assistants are needed for varying age groups.

Thrift Shop
ACES is now looking for several interested volunteers to fill the lead positions at the thrift shop. An interview is required for those interested in volunteering for this position.

Airmen Support 4 Families
The Airmen Support 4 Families is looking for volunteers willing to assists families of deployed members with their lawn care needs.

Primavera Bazaar
The Primavera Bazaar committee is in need of volunteer cashiers and German and Italian language interpreters. Cashiers will volunteer in two hour increments.
Cashers: May 3, 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., May 4, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and May 5,
10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Aviano Community and Enlisted Spouses
The Aviano Community of Enlisted Spouses (ACES) was established with the primary focus of supporting, encouraging and celebrating military spouses stationed at Aviano AB. We are a professional organization with a focus on networking and volunteering in our community. We have monthly socials to come together and have fun along with many leisure clubs to allow friendships and talents to grow through one another. The ACES supports both the Italian and Air Force communities while allowing spouses an opportunity to network and develop lifelong friendships. We challenge everyone through our motto "Spouses Make it Happen!"

Aviano Officers Civilian Spouses Club
AOCSC is a philanthropic and social organization comprised of spouses who are committed to improving the quality of life at Aviano. We make new friends, experiences Italian culture and have a great time in the process. Proceeds from our fundraising are returned to the Aviano community. AOCSC needs volunteers to support and sponsor community events such as Spouse It Up, Operation Yellow Ribbon, Fall Fest, Airman Cookie Drive and Christmas Cottage.

Aviano Parent Co-Op
Parents volunteer to watch children in the Co-Op building (one that meets all CDC safety, health, and fire requirements) and in exchange earn days that other volunteers watch their children. Volunteers are needed any day throughout the year and do not need to have children to participate. Background checks are required. Air Force Association, Dolomiti Chapter 515
Currently looking for motivated and dedicated individuals who want to make a difference. Opportunities to serve, volunteer and get involved in the Aviano Community are nonstop. The Air Force Association is the only professional non-profit organization which educates, advocates and supports the total United States Air Force; enlisted, officer and civilian.

Air Force Sergeants' Association
AFSA provides a voice for enlisted women and men, both active and retired, and their families. Volunteer opportunities are available at the pharmacies and are also needed to lobby for military quality of life, fundraising for local charity programs and scholarships and to aid in voter registration.

Club Beyond Booster Club
CB Booster Club has many volunteer opportunities that work at our fundraisers, cook dinners/prepare snacks for Club Beyond students; attend board meetings, etc.

Primavera Bazaar Committee
The Primavera Bazaar have taken place on Aviano in one form or another since the early 1980's and remain an important part of the base to this day. The spring bazaar is the responsibility of the 7 Enlisted Private Organizations; Aviano Top Three Association, Aviano Community Enlisted Spouses, First Sergeant Council, Chiefs Group, Non-commissioned Officers Association, Aviano 5/6, & the Air Force Sergeants Association. Each spring many volunteers will be needed to assist the committee with various duties.

Unit Booster Clubs
Booster Clubs for each unit on base may host events for the unit and hold fundraising activities to fund their unit events. Volunteering for your Unit Booster Club may involve holding a board position or participating in fundraising activities such as ushering at local shows and events.

Vicini Americani
The wing is seeking volunteers to help implement a new program designed to connect Americans in their Italian communities. Under the Vicini Americani (or American Neighbors) program, Team Aviano volunteers will help to welcome newcomers, organize local gatherings and inform people about upcoming community events. Team Aviano military, civilian and family members are eligible to volunteer.

Horse Rescue Shelter
Zedan Ranch is a non-profit animal rescue and shelter specializing in horse rescue. The ranch can only survive with the help of volunteers. Volunteers are needed for general overall repair jobs such as fixing fences, running water pipes, and building shelters. Volunteers are also needed to care for the welfare of the horses, such as brushing, socializing, and walking them in the pastures.

The following base agencies utilize a great number of volunteers. If interested, please contact them directly and, if no name is listed below, ask to speak with their volunteer coordinator.

Airman's Attic
The Airman's Attic provides a place for donations, such as furniture, small appliances, kitchen equipment and other household goods. Donations must be in good usable condition. These items are made available to those in the rank of E-4 and below at no charge. Volunteers are always needed to sort, clean and display items. Hours are Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and the second and third Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Airmen Against Drunk Driving
AADD needs a minimum of five volunteers each weekend night to provide designated driving services year round. Active duty members as well as spouses are welcome to volunteer. The hours are on Friday and Saturday nights from 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.

Arts & Crafts Center
Volunteers are utilized for framing and engraving. Volunteers must already have some skill in using the machines and some imagery or graphic design knowledge.

Volunteers needed from all faith groups to act as altar servers, ushers, children's church leaders and more.

Library volunteers are occasionally needed for story time reading and library assistance.

Opportunities available as administrative assistant, base drama club director, technical assistants and base special events.

Operation Yellow Ribbon
Operation Yellow Ribbon is a volunteer program to feed military members traveling to and from their deployed location. Volunteers are always needed to help with anything, from serving food, cooking or even donations.

Sexual Assault Response Coordinator
Volunteers are utilized as Victim Advocates. Advocates provide essential support, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault. Volunteer opportunities are only available to active-duty Air Force and U.S. civilian employees.

Tax Assistance Office
Volunteer opportunities may include assisting in tax preparation, reviewing tax forms, and informing clients of the latest tax breaks. Volunteers are also utilized in areas of office management such as data entry, receptionist, and secretarial positions such as maintaining the phone lines and scheduling client appointments. The tax center even offers the unique opportunity for those interested in advertising and marketing.

Thrift Shop
Volunteers are needed to accept donations, price, stock, organize, clean, sell, etc. The Thrift Shop is managed through the Aviano Community Enlisted Spouses. Proceeds from the sale of donated items go toward scholarships and other opportunities to improve the quality of life on Aviano Air Base. Volunteer hours are flexible between Tuesday 8 a.m. to1:30 p.m. and Thursday 12:30 to 6 p.m.

Tish Capra, for her work with the Club Beyond program - at Aviano and at Geilenkirchen, Germany. She has held leadership roles, and has helped the youth get involved in many international activities and service projects.

Jessica Groves, for her work with the key spouse program, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Adopt-A-Family, Smyrna Fire and Police departments and Operation Yellow Ribbon. Groves was also named as the 31st FW key spouse of the year.

Melissa Raethka
