731st Munitions Squadron

 MISSION
The 731st Munitions Squadron provides ready and reliable munitions via road, rail, and sea in support of Combatant Command and NATO allies…Always in movement!

VISION
The 731st MUNS will accomplish its mission through the efficient utilization of its resources and unique location, while expanding its infrastructure to meet future mission goals.

PERSONNEL AND RESOURCES
The more than 128 active-duty personnel filling 13 Air Force specialty codes are assigned to 14 sections within the unit's four flights. They maintain USAFE's largest and most dispersed conventional munitions stockpile valued at $423 million. The squadron also maintains serviceable munitions for war reserve stocks for allies. The vehicle fleet consists of 72 vehicles worth $4.4 million and 32 units of aerospace ground equipment valued at $500,000.

ORGANIZATION
The four flights within the 731st MUNS are the commander's support section, materiel, systems and production. The unit has its own aerospace ground equipment and vehicle maintenance facilities and accompanying personnel. The unit, which is located at Camp Darby, Italy, falls under the 31st Maintenance Group, 31st Fighter Wing, and is located at Aviano Air Base, Italy.

LINEAGE
Constituted as 731 Air Materiel Squadron on 4 Apr 1945. Activated on 13 Jun 1945. Inactivated on 7 Nov 1945. Disbanded on 8 Oct 1948. Reconstituted, redesignated as 731 Munitions Support Squadron, and activated, on 1 Aug 1996. Inactivated on 20 Jun 2001. Redesignated as 731 Munitions Squadron on 17 Jul 2009. Activated on 31 Jul 2009.
