Celebrating culture and heritage

Tech. Sgt. Tulafono Sili, 31st Civil Engineer Squadron assistant chief of logistics, talks about embracing your heritage and culture during the Asian-Pacific Heritage Month kick-off event May 1 at Aviano Air Base, Italy. According to the APAHM website, the annual observance was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869. The majority of the workers who laid the tracks were Chinese immigrants. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Briana Jones)
