Individuals looking to trim up after the holidays have until Jan. 11 to sign-up for the fitness center's seventh annual 90-day weight loss challenge, the Biggest Winner.

The free program, a spin-off of the "The Biggest Loser" is sponsored by the 31st Force Support Squadron and is open to all Team Aviano member. The program offers participants a motivational way to lose weight and make healthy changes in their lives. The program also helps to increase physical activity and make healthier nutritional choices.

Throughout the competition, participants will gain points depending on how much time they workout in cardio, weight training and other fitness classes.

"The value of the Biggest Winner program is to provide motivation for those looking to improve their physical fitness levels" said Tech. Sgt. Scott LaPointe, 31st FSS NCO in charge of operations. "Recently the enlisted military member was voted as the most stressful job and the greatest way to relieve stress is a 30 minute workout three times a week."

The results of the program will be based on the percentage change in body mass index from initial to final, total pounds lost, total points from logged workouts and total points from attended fitness classes. Participants must turn in their logs for evaluation by Feb. 28. Scores will be calculated on March 1. The final results and prizes will be announced and distributed after the mini-aerobathon on March 2.
