  • 31st Force Support Squadron Passport Office: Small office, big impact

    The Passport Office at Aviano Air Base, Italy, is tucked away in an unassuming building sandwiched between the sprawling compound of the 606th Air Control Squadron and the always-packed Military Personnel Flight and Finance offices. It shares the ground floor with the Safety Office, among other agencies, and inhabits a space no larger than a tool shed. But don’t let its size fool you -- the Passport Office has a huge impact on the 31st Fighter Wing mission.

    It’s 5:30 a.m. at the Wyvern Fitness Center on Aviano Air Base, Italy, and a group of weary-eyed CrossFit athletes shuffles in. As the group gathers around CrossFit Aviano’s makeshift home- two whiteboards stacked on a squat rack in the back of the gym- they’re greeted by a voice with way too much energy for this early in the morning.

  • Aviano Starts Combatives Program

    The first Aviano Air Base U.S. Air Force Combatives Program class graduated Feb. 13, at the Wyvern Fitness Center. Seventeen participants graduated the basic warrior course.
  • SNCOs give back to dorm Airmen

    Aviano’s senior noncommissioned officers hosted a dormitory give-back event at Aviano Air Base, Italy, February 11, 2020. The event offered senior NCOs the opportunity to walk through the dorm campus to take note of things that may need to be fixed throughout the facilities, provide hands-on assistance with ongoing projects to maintain dorm appearance, and also to speak with Airmen about issues they may be having and provide a mentoring opportunity.
  • 31 FW legal office opens tax center

    This year’s tax season has officially begun and the Aviano Legal Office is here to help. For many people, filing taxes can be stressful and time-consuming; even more so for first-time tax filers or those still relatively new to the process. The legal office aims to help alleviate some of that stress and will open their tax center from 11 Feb. to 15 April, 2020.
  • Aviano’s STEM Junk Box Challenge

    The Aviano Elementary School held a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math challenge on Jan. 8, 2020. The STEM Junk Box is a monthly challenge that the school holds for their students to practice out-of-the-box thinking and creative problem solving.
