31st Health Care Operations Squadron

MISSION
The 31st Healthcare Operations Squadron provides medical care to beneficiaries in Aviano and the surrounding areas, ensuring the health of its community by providing a patient-centered medical home for its patients.

ORGANIZATION
The 31st Healthcare Operations Squadron provides approximately 20,000 outpatient visits annually to approximately 8,400 beneficiaries. Services offered include Pediatrics, Family Health, Allergy and Immunizations, Women’s Health, Educational and Developmental Intervention Services, and Ambulance Services.

HISTORY
Retired Lt. Gen. Murphy A. Chesney, Air Force Surgeon General, dedicated the new Air Force clinic building on Sept. 4, 1987, which served the 40th Tactical Support Wing until it was re-designated on March 23, 1994. The 31st Medical Squadron became the 31st Medical Group on Sept. 1, 1994, as part of the Objective Medical Group realignment. The group consisted of two squadrons -- the 31st Medical Operations Squadron and the 31st Medical Support Squadron. The 31st Medical Operations Squadron was recognized in both 2007 and 2008 with the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Commander In Chief's Installation Excellence Award for Special Recognition. The 31st Medical Operations Squadron was re-designated as the 31st Healthcare Operations Squadron on Sept. 29, 2020.
