AF EO

Air Force EO strives to accomplish its mission by promoting an environment free from personal, social or institutional barriers that could prevent Air Force members from rising to their highest potential. Air Force policies are in place to ensure the organizations conduct their affairs free from unlawful discrimination, non-discrimination harassment, and sexual harassment. The policies also provide for equal employment opportunity and treatment for all civilians irrespective of their race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), age, genetic information, disability, or prior EEO activity (reprisal).  In the military EO context, the policies provide for equal opportunity and treatment for all members based on their race, color, sex, national origin, religion, or sexual orientation.

Bullying and Hazing

Military members can now file informal and formal complaints with the EO Office for bullying and hazing.

Bullying is a form of non-discrimination harassment that includes acts of aggression, either physical or psychological, without a proper military purpose.

Hazing is a form of non-discrimination harassment that includes conduct without a proper military purpose that physically or psychologically injures, or risks injury, to have affiliation with an organization.

Remember the MEO timeline: You must file within 60 days of the last occurrence!

Full definitions of these categories can be found in DoDI 1020.03 HARASSMENT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE IN THE ARMED FORCES, February 8, 2018.

"Let's Talk About It" Campaign

“Let’s Talk About It!” is a 31-day period from 11 Mar 19 to 11 Apr 19 that is meant to inspire increased conversation within daily life in order to reduce the interference of communication barriers. The goal is to make effective communication a normal part of life for everyone at Aviano AB, on and off base.

Participate in the campaign by actively seeking to build relationships, engage communication obstacles, clarify perceptions, and manage conflict. And of course, tell people, “Let’s talk about it!”

Week 1: Building Relationships

Week 2: Engage Obstacles
