Local Legend - Franco Da Re

This week’s Local Legend is Franco Da Re. Born in Belgium he now lives in Fontanafredda. He is married and has a son named Marco. They plan to travel to Portugal soon. Franco says he appreciates the quality of life here in Italy and that he loves Florence. Da Re started working on base in 1983 as a bus driver before moving to handling cargo. In 2011, he became the Installation Dangerous Goods Advisor. He is responsible for training, developing local policy, and integrating Italian laws and guidance on movement of hazardous material and waste. He provides guidance and inspection of Aviano’s military vehicle program and ensures it is in compliance with safety regulations for movement on public roads. It is great having you on the team, Franco. We appreciate all you do!
