GRAF IGNATIEVO AIR FORCE BASE, Bulgaria – First Lt. Nick Velati, 603rd Air Control Squadron communications site leader, briefs James Warlick Jr., U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria, and Lt. Gen. CÂRNU Fanica, Chief of the Romanian Air Force here April 27 in how his team and unit is supporting Thracian Star 2012. The Airmen from the 603rd ACS based out of Aviano Air Base, Italy, are deployed to Bulgaria with more than 500 Airmen from the 31st Fighter Wing for a month-long training exercise aimed to build partnership and interoperability between United States and Bulgarian Air Forces.
