Energy-efficient dormitory improves quality of life

Brig. Gen. Scott Zobrist, 31st Fighter Wing commander, exalts the virtues of a new, energy-efficient dormitory being built Feb. 23 at Aviano Air Base, Italy. Wing leadership plans to move all U.S. Air Force assets out of Area 2, returning it to the Italian air force. The new dormitory will remove the plan’s primary roadblock. The facility also has a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design silver-certified rating for efficiency, significantly reducing the Air Force’s carbon footprint and utility bill.
