This Week in 31st Fighter Wing History: 308th TFS F-100s fly non-stop from Florida to Turkey
On Feb. 8, 1964, F-100s from the 308th Tactical Fighter Squadron flew a non-stop mission from Homestead Air Force Base, Fla., to Cigli Air Base, Turkey. The mission required eight in-flight refuelings and set a new record for the longest mass flight of jet aircraft to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
