Team Aviano highlights women at work
Airman Meghann Trapp, 31st Civilian Engineer Squadron firefighter, performs an equipment check on a chainsaw during a vehicle checkout March 19 at the Aviano Fire Department. Airman Trapp serves in a physically demanding job that used to be a job only for men prior to the enlistment of Esther Blake, the first woman in the Air Force in 1947. Now this careerfield, along with many others, is filled with men and women working side by side to achieve a common goal, the mission. March is Women's History Month, and this year's theme is "Writing Women back into History." (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Tabitha M. Mans)
