Winter Sports Safety

Senior Airman Michael Barclay, 31st Maintenance Squadron crew chief, studies the various injury charts posted in a patient room prior to his appointment, Dec. 19, 2009 at Aviano Air Base, Italy. Senior Airman Barclay recently sustained a dislocated collar bone during a snowboarding mishap while on a trip to Austria. The 31st Medical Group leaves surgery as a last resort for patients who cannot rehabilitate without help. Senior Airman Barclay is currently enrolled in a three times a week, eight week physical theory program to regain full pre-injury capabilities after which he will be re-evaluated to see if surgery is necessary.
