Aviano soccer team wins

The Aviano Air Base soccer team went head-to-head with the Cimpello soccer team Saturday at Area D as a way to further unite the civilian and military communities. The Aviano team won 4 to 1. ‘We have a great team,’ said Omer Sanabria, Aviano Air Base soccer team coach pictured at right. ‘We work hard and 4 to 1 is the compensation for our efforts.’ The game was hosted by Lt. Col. Greg Brown, 31st Mission Support Squadron commander and his Honorary Squadron Commander Lorenzo Cella, President of the Pordenone Italian National Olympic Committee. Mr. Cella hosted a previous soccer match off base and Colonel Brown returned the favor by hosting this match at Area D. A barbecue followed the game. ‘It was a good time, there was camaraderie all around,’ Colonel Brown said. ‘We look forward to more opportunities to bring our communities together.’ (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
