San Marco’s basilica

The ornate San Marco’s Basilica is covered both inside and out with sparkling mosaics. The basilica was built between 1063 and 1094 and is connected to the Palazzo Ducale or Doges Palace. Photos are not allowed inside the basilica, but visitors can take photos of the piazza below from the balcony. (Photo by Alex Wieman)
