LRS tow truck

Airman 1st Class Micah Cross, 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle operator, uses a power take off system to pull a vehicle onto a tow truck, July 15, 2014, at Aviano Air Base, Italy. While most vehicles idle anywhere from five to 900 revolutions per minute, a power take off system engages the engine to idle up to 1,500 RPM to give more power to lift the inoperable vehicle onto the tow truck. Vehicle management is one of four sections under the 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron responsible for maintaining over 1,000 vehicles on Aviano. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Matthew Lotz)
