Sicily
Catania sits on the east coast of the island facing the Ionian Sea and is the second-largest city in Sicily. Catania has been rebuilt several times throughout history due to catastrophic damage from Mt. Etna, but tourists can still visit Roman thermal structures, classical buildings like the Odeon, and burial monuments and catacombs. (U.S. Air Force photo/2nd lt. Allie Delury)
