Pope Francis
(Center) Chaplain (Capt.) Paul Amaliri, 31st Fighter Wing Catholic priest, receives a votive lamp and oil from Pope Francis during a special mass held, Sept. 13, 2014, at Redipuglia, Gorizia. The 31st FW Base Chapel took more than 180 service members and their families to attend a special mass held by the Pope in commemoration of those lost in all world wars. In addition to marking the 100th anniversary of World War I, the ceremony was dedicated to all representatives of Italian Armed Forces and their families. The Aviano Base Chapel was asked to represent Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the U.S. Archdiocese for Military Services. (Courtesy photo)
