JTACs train like they fight

Airman 1st Class Matthew Smith, 2nd Air Support Operations Squadron joint tactical air controller, looks at coordinates for an airstrike on a GPS, Dec. 2, 2014, in Barcis, Italy. During a week-long exercise, U.S. military and the Dutch army are training with 555th Fighter Squadron pilots to stay current in their proficiencies. The training allows JTACs to coordinate with F-16 Fighting Falcons and practice calling in airstrikes on simulated targets in the mountains. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Matthew Lotz)
