DASR improves mission effectiveness, Italian partnership
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Nicholas Krug, 31st Operations Support Squadron ground radar systems technician, performs a daily check on the newly installed Digital Airport Surveillance Rader system next to the old ASR system, Feb. 12, 2014, at Aviano Air Base, Italy. The new system provides more reliable and accurate radar readings, while giving controllers clearer, high-definition screens to decipher exact aircraft locations.
