Destinations: Tenerife

Next on our itinerary was Parque del Drago located next to the Church of San Marcos in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos. In the garden stands a more than 16-meter-high dragon tree, referred to locally as “El Drago Milenario” or the “Thousand-Year-Old Dragon.” Although you can pay an entry fee to get up close and personal with this giant, we opted to view the tree from the plaza besides the Church of San Marcos, where you can get a full view of the garden for free.
