31st Fighter Wing receives “Fox Peter One”

Airman 1st Class Thomas S. Keisler, 31st Fighter Wing Public Affairs photojournalist, flips pages of “Fox Peter One” at Aviano Air Base, Italy, July 21, 2020. During Operation Fox Peter One, the 31st Fighter Strategic Wing flew across the United States to Japan in the first mass movement of an entire wing in the summer of 1952. The magnitude of this accomplishment named the 31st Fighter Escort Wing, which was re-designated on July 16, 1950, as the recipient of the first ever Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.
