Always ready: Wyvern EOD
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jordan Burger, 31st Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team leader, puts safety pins on an F-16 Fighting Falcon to secure the aircraft during a training session at Aviano Air Base, Italy, March 23, 2021. The training session simulated an in-flight emergency scenario. During the training, an EOD member had to verify the conditions of the munitions, which allowed the ground crew to unload the ordnance. U.S. Air Force EOD supports nine mission sets including range clearance, aircraft support, irregular warfare, unexploded ordnance disposal and more.
