31 FW command chief Newman takes his final flights
Chief Master Sgt. Jamie Newman, 31st Fighter Wing command chief, prepares to board a 56th Rescue Squadron (RQS) HH-60G Pave Hawk before take-off at Aviano Air Base, Italy, May 4, 2021. Newman flew with the 56th RQS in an HH-60G for his final flight at Aviano. The final flight, or fini-flight, is an Air Force tradition among air crew to celebrate one’s last flight with their unit. Serving as the wing's senior enlisted leader, Newman is the principal advisor to the commander on matters influencing the readiness and professional development of approximately 4,200 active-duty military members, nearly 300 U.S. civilians and 700 Italian civilian employees.
