31 FW command chief Newman takes his final flights
Airman 1st Class Korbin Hollensteiner, 555th Aircraft Maintenance Unit F-16 Fighting Falcon crew chief, marshals out U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Jason Bailey, 31st Fighter Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jamie Newman, 31st FW command chief, at Aviano Air Base, Italy, May 6, 2021. Newman completed his first flight in an F-16 with Gen. Bailey as the pilot. Newman filled numerous positions in the Air Force and joint force units including entry controller, fire team leader, Phoenix Raven and Air Base build up/defense Instructor, combat operations squad leader/flight chief, operations and squadron superintendent, leading in roles from squadron to wing level. Newman and his family are scheduled to go to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio where he will take the role as Air Force Life Cycle Management Center command chief.
