Wyvern Fighter of the Week:

Senior Airman Thiffney Binns, 31st Dental Squadron certified dental assistant, from Georgetown, Guyana, has been part of the Wyvern Nation for 21 months now. Her inspiration comes from other people’s lives and their stories and her personal motto is: “Anything you can imagine is real.” Binns is a customer service professional assigned to the Records and Reception Element at the 31st DS. In the last six months, she has played a key role in multiple squadron projects. Binns co-led an annual records audit, leading 21 members in the review of over 4,500 charts. Additionally, she filled in as her section’s Non Commissioned Officer In Charge, overseeing 13 programs and coordinating clearance exams for 234 deploying members. By championing a process improvement aimed at decreasing dental no-shows, she helped cut failed appointments by 10%. Binns advanced the Dental Clinic’s Community Outreach Program by organizing activities for the National Children’s Dental Health Month and the Kids Understanding Deployment Operations (KUDOS) event. She tackled COVID restrictions by creating a virtual video, distributed oral hygiene kits to 693 Aviano School Students and showcased dental deployment capabilities to 127 kids. As event coordinator for the Base African American Heritage Committee, Binns helped coordinate a 6-member panel, where various Airmen concerns were addressed and feedback was directly provided to leadership. She also facilitated two Wing Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEI&A) sessions, facilitating discussion for 35 members. Lastly, Binns finished two classes towards her bachelor’s degree in journalism. Keep up the great work Binns!
