Wyvern Warrior of the Week: A1C Samuel Green
This week’s Wyvern Warrior of the Week is Airman 1st Class Samuel Green, 31st Civil Engineer Squadron electrical systems apprentice. After a tornado rolled through the Aviano area, Green received an emergency standby call to Area F on July 26 at 2:30 a.m. He was one of the first on the scene to address the storm and tornado damage and swiftly responded to multiple substation faults across Area F. He also discovered a commercial power outage that caused 17 south side substations to be offline, which affected 41 buildings, including the Temporary Lodging Facilities and the dorms housing 685 U.S. Air Force Airmen and U.S. Army Soldiers. While troubleshooting, he identified and isolated six faulty high-voltage cables. With ingenuity and quick thinking, Green and his team developed a quick fix to provide temporary power to three dorms for 338 Airmen, giving them a place to sleep for the night until a repair could be made. Thank you so much for your hard work A1C Green! Keep it up!
