AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- Special Agent Robert Binns, Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 531 superintendent, received the Bronze Star Medal at Aviano Air Base, Italy on Dec. 5, 2016. Binns earned the medal by distinguishing himself by meritorious achievement while engaged in operations against an opposing force in Afghanistan from Dec. 7, 2012 to Dec. 10, 2013. Brig. Gen. Keith Givens, AFOSI commander, presented the medal and thanked Binns for his leadership and dedication to the mission in Afghanistan.
