Airmen from the 31st Maintenance Squadron Aircrew Egress Systems flight installed detonating transfer assembly lines in an F-16 Fighting Falcon at Aviano Air Base, Italy recently. The assembly line transfers an electrical signal to the ejection seat should a pilot need to pull the ejection lever in an emergency. The Aircrew Egress Systems flight monitors the expiration and functionality of more than 60 parts that make up the ejection system. A full ejection seat removal, inspection and installation can take up to three days without replacing any parts.
