Senior Airman Chase Doering, 31st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron avionics systems journeyman, repaired an F-16 Fighting Falcon, Jan. 10, 2018, at Aviano Air Base, Italy. Doering fixed a faulty switch which allows pilots to adjust auto-pilot settings. Though this issue typically requires weeks of investigation, Doering and his team located the problem in one day, expediting the fix. By repairing the faulty switch, Doering ensured the aircraft would return to operational capability and join Aviano’s fleet ahead of schedule.
