How do you support the 31st Fighter Wing mission?
I support the 31st Fighter Wing Mission by maintaining network connectivity to our two F-16 Fighter Squadrons and various mission support squadrons as required in support of US/NATO taskings. Providing continuous network connectivity allows our mission in Aviano to meet offensive and defensive air combat operations.

What's one thing you've learned about Italy's history, people and culture?
The one thing I've learned about Italy's history, people and culture is that the Italian lifestyle revolves around their food. They respect their land in which their food grows in, the way they manufacture high quality food in every little way, and the methods they use to not forget their history and culture. It is possible to see how that impacts their lifestyle. How majority of the people can live longer at age and yet still be as strong compared to other countries unlike the United States. The opportunity to learn the history, people and culture of a host nation is something I will not disrespect or take for granted.

What's one advantage of being stationed overseas?
The one advantage of being stationed overseas is the ability to travel in the area and to neighboring countries. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to learn about other cultures and people. Being so close, it is often dismissed on how fortunate we are in being stationed in an overseas location such as Italy. Many people save money for years just to be able to travel on this side of the world and yet we have the opportunity to visit wonderful areas every weekend. That alone is one of the biggest advantages of being stationed overseas.


What's your favorite European destination and why?
For the time that my family and I have been here, our favorite European destination would be Lake Garda near Verona. The reason being is that it is near a body of water where we islanders like to have water near our lives. A lake is sufficient but a beach would rather be preferred. A peaceful area and the sights it provides is a huge factor in that area plus the location being near the amusement parks for my daughter to enjoy and have a wonderful time.
