How do you support the 31st Fighter Wing mission? Provide ground-based navigation, air traffic control radio, and weather equipment maintenance in support of the 31st FW and associate units. Serves as the squadron and wing technical liaison with the Italian air force. Works with communications counterparts at Aviano Air Base in resolving mutual issues and problems. Works with host base technicians and managers to develop mutually agreeable systems. Serves as squadron and wing radio frequency manager.


What's one thing you've learned about America's history, people and culture? Americans have a unique culture. A great opportunity to work with different personnel from different backgrounds working together to meet the mission's needs.

What's one advantage of working with Americans? Diversity, learn new style of life.

What's your favorite European destination and why? Venice because it is a unique town in the word, and London for the nice music culture.

Why I nominated Mr. Momesso as one of Aviano's finest? Mr. Momesso works in the Airfield section for the 31st CS. This man truly loves the Air Force and goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to working here on base. Gaspare is always willing and able to help out wherever he can. He is our go to man when it comes to interacting with the Italian side and has helped setup countless meetings and interactions between important distinguished visitors. He recently won innovator of the month for his work with the antennae on the wing commander's vehicle making the vehicle more accessible and easier to use for the general, but also increasing operations security by making the antennae less visible to the general public. We are happy to nominate Gaspare Momesso for his continued exceptional service to the U.S. Air Force.
