Warrior NCO of the Week

Staff Sgt. Lonnie Sapp, 447th Air Expeditionary Group command post, deployed from the 31st Fighter Wing command post, Aviano Air Base, Italy, won Noncommissioned Officer of the Week for the 447th Air Expeditionary Group for March 12 to 19, 2010 Sergeant Sapp expertly managed a number of missions with cargo, distinguished visitors and passengers to facilitate Air Transportation Operation Center, Maintenance Operations Center, and Protocol mission success. He also processed 17 urgent, no-notice medical evacuations that required immediate care to save soldiers’ lives. The sergeant also led Central Command’s first theatre missile defense exercise team, validating connectivity and ensuring battle space security. Sergeant Sapp coached and led a basketball team to win the Sather Basketball Tournament. As an Honor Guard member he has flown four flags and participated in two Patriot details to show respect to fallen servicemembers. The sergeant also completed six hours toward his bachelor’s degree to maintain a 3.8 grade point average.
