"Staff Sergeant Stubbs, where's Staff Sergeant Stubbs?" asked Brig. Gen. C. Q. Brown Jr., 31st Fighter Wing commander.

General Brown had come to the 31st Munitions Squadron commander's call to summon Staff Sgt. Stubbs in front of his peers.

As Sergeant Stubbs proceeded to the commander, he clearly displays a confused look on his face. He took his position to the left of General Brown, who quickly inspected Sergeant Stubbs's uniform.

"Are you aware that you are out of uniform?" asked General Brown.

"No, Sir" said Sergeant Stubbs, who seemed confused by the question.

"Maybe this will help...Congratulations" said General Brown, as he pulled out a brand new set of Technical Sergeant stripes and extended his hand to Sergeant Stubbs.

Sergeant Stubbs was promoted under the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program. His promotion was credited to his academic achievements, his job performance and his role in resurrecting the Aviano Base Honor Guard.

Tech. Sgt. Stubbs is a Cookeville, TN native. Sergeant Stubbs will shortly leave Aviano, with his wife Kelly and 15 month old son Ashton, to enter his new job as a technical school instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.
