Former 31MDG commander takes command of 386EMDG

AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- A former 31st Medical Group commander recently took command of the 386th Expeditionary Medical Group.

Col. Michael Schaffrinna, who commanded the 31st MDG during his June 2005 to September 2008 tour in Italy, took command of the deployed medical group from Col. Phil Samples during a change of command ceremony Jan. 29 at a Southwest Asia air base.
