Aviano Airmen selected for promotion to chief master sergeant

AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy --  Three senior master sergeants assigned to Aviano Air Base were among 475 selected Air Force wide for promotion to chief master sergeant Nov. 5, 2009.  This year's selection rate was 20.87 percent.

Please join the 31st Fighter Wing commander and command chief in congratulating Aviano's newest chief master sergeant selects during a promotion social scheduled for 4 p.m. Nov. 6 at the La Bella Vista Club. 

The senior master sergeants selected are: 

David Ayers, 31st Civil Engineer Squadron 
Gregory Banks, 31st Dental Squadron 
Anthony Grizzard, 31st Maintenance Squadron

The average score for those selected was 662.78, with an average time in grade of 3.40 and time in service of 23.23 years, respectively, and 24.49 for decorations. The average score was based on the following point averages: 135.00 for enlisted performance reports, 63.57 for the Air Force supervisory exam and 388.58 board score.

Those selected for chief master sergeant will be promoted according to their promotion sequence number beginning January 2010. As a reminder, selections are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which is no later than 10 days after the promotion release date. AFPC officials will notify Airmen, via military personnel sections, if their selection is in question.
