The second annual Aviano Airmen's Bash kicks off at noon Sept. 12 at the 'I Visinai Sports Complex' in Aviano.

The free event, which runs until 6 p.m., is open to Airmen grades E-1 thru E-4 and their families.

"We have a great event planned this year and even more prizes to give away," said Tech. Sgt. Scott Ibanez, Airmen's Bash committee co-chair. "This is a way for us (supervisors and leaders) to show Aviano Airmen that we care about them, value their contributions to the 31st Fighter Wing, and recognize them for the hard work they put forth day-in and day-out."

This year's event includes basketball, volleyball, XBox, Texas Hold'em and Super Sumo Showdown tournaments as well as free food, prizes and music.

Sign-ups for the various tournaments begins at noon. The XBox tournament kicks-off at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Texas Hold'em tournament at 1 p.m., basketball and volleyball tournaments at 1:30 p.m. and a Super Sumo Showdown tournament at 2:30 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded throughout the event for tournament winners and as raffle prizes. Giveaways include an XBox 360 bundle, Play Station 3, Blu-ray DVD player, Apple I-Pods, AAFES gift cards, 31st Force Support Squadron gift cards (for free rounds of golf, free Sunday brunch and discounts at the bowling center) and much more.

"Some of the highlights of this year's event include an Eagles vs. Chiefs volleyball challenge, as well as performances by DJ Skittles and live bands 'Assault the Queen' and 'General Issue,'" said Sergeant Ibanez. The bands will begin performing at 3 p.m.

First sergeants will be manning the grills during the event, serving hamburgers and hotdogs as well as chips and assorted beverages. Food service runs from 1-5 p.m.

Shuttle buses will be going from the Airman and Family Readiness Center and the La Dolce Vita Dining Facility in Area F as well as the bus stop in Area 2 to the 'I Visinai Sports Complex' from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for participants. In addition, Airmen Against Drunk Driving volunteers will be available during the event.

"This year's event would not be possible had it not been for our various sponsors and volunteers, so a big thanks to all," said Sergeant Ibanez. "We just hope all Aviano Airmen can come out and enjoy this great event we have planned."
