AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- Seven Aviano children participated in the Notturna dell 'Assunta Trofeo B.C.C. Pordenonese race Aug. 7 in Vigonovo, Italy. The event was a scratch style bicycle race, which is a high paced race with a sprint finish.

Participants included Gregory, Gabriel and Analisa Nicodemus, children of Bryant and Renza Nicodemus, 31st Civil Engineer Squadron, who all competed in the G-5 (10-year-old) category; Tyler Tangen, son of Master Sgt. Richard Tangen, 31st Medical Support Squadron, who competed in the G-6 (11-year-old) category; Kieran Fritzsche, daughter of Master Sgt. Christopher and Nelly Fritzsche, 31st Civil Engineer Squadron, who competed in the G-6 (11-year-old) category; and Kameron and Erin Sandoval, daughters of Master Sgt. Levi and Brenda Sandoval, 31st Operations Support Squadron, who competed in the G-6 (11-year-old) category and Allievi second year (15-year-old) category respectively.
