Education center offers endless possibilities

Airmen and their families looking to pursue their education goals can visit the one-stop shop at the Aviano Education Center. The education team offers face-to-face and correspondence classes for students who want to receive their Community College of the Air Force degree or choose from different degree programs available from five different colleges. The education center also gives Airman the opportunity to receive a degree in everything from international relations to food and beverage management. 

The education center offers classes from Central Texas College, Embry Riddle University, The University of Maryland University College (UMUC), The University of Phoenix, and Oklahoma University (OU). Central Texas College offers many associate degree plans to the Aviano Community, including Early Childhood Professions and Criminal Justice. Embry Riddle offers Associate's and Bachelor's of Science in Professional Aeronautics and Technical Management. 

They also offer a Master of Science in Aeronautical Science. UMUC offers Associate, Bachelors and Masters Degrees in various subject areas. The University of Phoenix offers a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Art in Education. OU offers a Master of Arts in International Relations. 

The CCAF degree is made up of 64 semester hours. These hours are made up of physical education, technical education, leadership, management, and military studies, program electives, and general studies. 

The Aviano Education Center offers CLEP, DANTES and Excelsior College Examination Programs. They also offer SAT, ACT and GED testing. Testing is conducted by appointment only. 

The Air Force Pays 100 percent of tuition for active duty members. Tuition Assistance is not to exceed $250 per semester hour. There is a $4,500 cap per fiscal year. Courses paid for with TA must be satisfactory completed. Vocational TA and Spouse TA are also offered. Students can meet with a counselor for more details. 

The Air University Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative (AU ABC) Program is designed to provide bachelor's degree opportunities for Airmen. AU ABC establishes partnerships between the Air Force and accredited civilian higher education institutions to offer baccalaureate degree opportunities. AU ABC applies CCAF/other 2-year associate degree credit towards baccalaureate degrees and requires participants to complete no more the 60 semester hours after earned an associated in applied science degree.
