Aviano gets 24/7 cab service Published Aug. 11, 2006 By Senior Airman Colleen Wronek 31st Fighter Wing Public Affairs AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- A new cab service can take Aviano Airmen anywhere they need to go at any time. The cab service, called Right Choice, started Tuesday and can take people anywhere, anytime - including the airport. "People going out for a good time don't have to worry about a ride home," said Gino Rakas, Army and Air Force Exchange Services business manager. For airport rides, Mr. Rakas recommends calling the dispatcher beforehand to set pick-up times with the driver. "This service is a great addition to this base and it'll help those without transportation, especially the new Airmen," said Staff Sgt. Aaron Chambers, 510th Aircraft Maintenance Unit weapons team chief. All cab drivers speak English and have access to the base. The service has locations on base to catch a ride - one near the post office and base exchange and the other in Area One near the community center. The vehicles run 24/7 and are kept clean and in good repair and have passed a base safety inspection. All drivers have their identification displayed in each vehicle. To call a Right Choice cab, dial 0434-65-2922.
