Italy’s Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team fly the skies of Aviano

The skies above Aviano Air Base hosted the 313th Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico (Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team) April 26, 2023. The Frecce Tricolori aerobatic boasts 10 aircraft marking it as the largest aerobatic team in the world and are  based out of  Rivolto air force base

The aerobatic team performed various flight formations, flying patterns and much more in preparation for their official season that starts May 1, using their Aermacchi MB-339 aircraft. The practice also recognized the Italian Air Force 100th Anniversary. 

Attendees included local U.S and Italian military, students and teachers from surrounding schools as well as several civil and military local authorities.  Visitors at the event had the opportunity to also observe an 56th Rescue Squadron HH-60 Pavehawk, (Unit Tomorrow) F-16 Fighting Falcon, fire trucks from the 31st Civil Engineer Squadron and other various Aviano assets.

Aviano Air Base continues to work towards strengthening the partnership and bond between the Italian military and the surrounding community through engagement, outreach and the many other events that happen annually.
