AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy – Aviano Air Base hosted it’s first U.S. Air Force Key Support Liaison Symposium on March 3, 2025. This event aims to bring Key Support Liaisons and Key Support Mentors together to standardize best practices, strengthen connections and enhance their ability to support Airmen and their families.
Key Support Liaisons are appointed volunteers who provide resources to Air and Space Force families. They build rapport with unit family members, welcome new families and provide readiness support for families of deployed members.
To open the event, U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Tad D. Clark, 31st Fighter Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Cesar Florez, 31st Fighter Wing command chief, were invited to speak to the KSLs and offer guidance for the future.
“Fostering community and connecting with people is especially important when they don’t have their normal support system,” said Clark. “We hope you continue to reinforce the importance of the KSL program and strengthen the connection between leadership and military families at Aviano.”
The symposium also hosted a leadership panel led by some of Aviano’s commanders, chiefs and first sergeants to answer questions about readiness, retention and overall well-being within the wing.
This event helped set a foundation for continued training, mentorship and improvement of the KSL program at Aviano.
