AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- An active-duty Airman assigned to the 31st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Aviano Air Base, Italy, was pronounced dead at Lake Barcis, August 8, 2026.
We are supporting the Italian officials as they continue their investigation into cause of death. The member’s name will not be released until 24 hours after next of kin has been notified.
