Aviano Airman dies, cause under investigation

An Airman assigned to the 31st Fighter Wing at Aviano Air Base, Italy, died on Jan. 12.

The cause of death is currently under investigation. 

“We are all deeply saddened by this loss,” said Brig. Gen. Jason E. Bailey, 31st FW commander. “Our heartfelt sympathies are with the Airman’s family, friends and co-workers.” 

The 31st FW’s priority is to provide support for those affected by this death.

The Airman’s name will not be released until 24 hours after the next-of-kin notification.
