I am assisting a veteran in writing his military story. His name is Norman McVey. He was there at Tuy Hoa in October of 1966 working on the temporary runway in the capacity of the electrical. He also assisted the Provincial Chief Col. Ngyuan in lighting a bridge. If anyone has any pictures from that time or knows what happened to Col. Ngyuan would they please contact me jbux@usa.net. Do any of you remember a Staff Sgt. Norman Mac McVey

I was an 18 year old jet-mechanic with the New Mexico Air National Guard stationed at Tuy Hoa in 1968. I turned 19 shortly after arriving in country. Tuy Hoa Airbase was probably one of the better airbases to serve at in South Viet Nam. I am proud to have been a part of my units' deployment. The F-100 fighter plane was the transitional fighter plane leading to more modern aircraft.

My father was stationed at Aviano AFB beginning in 1961 and I remember this vividly. We were in the era of a Cold War at the same time. Aviano was a very special place. I was in the elememtary school at the time. I loved watching the F-100's take off. Pordenone was a very special place in the 1960's...beautiful. Alex Bell
